Recently our Shire hosted a Demo at the Upstate Renaissance Faire in Norwich NY . We were aided by those from nearby scadians from Delftwood, Coopertree, and Myrkaelinn with Heavy & Rapier fighters and beautiful A&S Displays. We even had Lord Garrett from East Kingdom!

Saturday was bright and sunny with a large turnout from the crowds.

Saturday had lower attendance with the threat of rain however it held off until after the faire.

Riddari Gwydeon ap Arden elevated his two man at arms Halfdan and Delos to Squire status. Much excitement was to be had.

Ophelia and Crispus played Red Sonia and Conan for the Conan demonstrations. The War Hammer weapon was a big hit with the crowds.

Lady Ruth, Cat, and Baroness Nest showed A&S with a spinning wheel and other various crafts. Lady Ruth made a magnificent kingdom map to help guests learn where to find their local SCA groups.

Lady Donna’s embroidery pieces were vibrant and beautifully made.

Dame Jennifer showcased garb with her fabulous SHINY wedding attire for herself and her husband Master Rian.

Lady Rowena brought her vardo for display.

MorganEagle Falconry brought some of their lovely birds of prey for demonstration and education.

We would like to thank all those whom attended and represented the SCA. Especially, Lady Myskia and Lady Astra who made sure the fighters were adequately hydrating

We also extend a huge thank you to the owners/operators of the Faire, Richard and Heather for inviting us back each year. We hope to see many more years with you to where we can say “I remember when this used to be a weekend at a fair ground.”
